Texting folo
Text folo from the phone number you signed up with. folo answers from your meetings, email, calendar and files, and only from what you are allowed to see.
what do I need for my 3pm?
Your 3pm is the pricing call with Ana Reyes from Northwind. Last time she asked for a pilot price for 20 seats (meeting 28 Oct). You said you would send the security answers by Friday and have not yet (email 30 Oct).
did she say anything about her CTO?
Yes. She wants him on the next call to review the integration (email 2 Nov).
Asking about a meeting. The example is made up.
From an unknown number
hi, is this folo?
folo doesn't know this number. Text from the phone you signed up with, or sign in to the app. New to folo? Ask your team's founder for an invite.
A text from a number folo does not know.
What to expect
| When | What folo does |
|---|---|
| Your number is not on folo | Replies once that it does not know the number, as above. Nothing reaches an agent. |
| The answer is long | Sends up to 1,600 characters and ends with "(Call for the rest.)". |
| folo cannot answer right away | Replies "I couldn't answer that just now. Send it again in a minute." |
| The question needs a line folo can verify | A text can be sent from a spoofed number, so for some answers folo calls you back on your own number instead of texting. |
| Your daily allowance is used up | Says so, and answers again after the daily reset. |
| You text a keyword such as STOP | Treats it as a command, not a question. Today a founder's STOP turns texts off and a teammate's removes them; see What STOP does. |
Draft: whether folo calls straight back or first offers a call, for questions that need a verified line, is not final.
One conversation
folo reads your recent messages with each new one, so a follow-up such as "did she say anything about her CTO?" works without repeating who "she" is. What folo stores says how long the history is kept.
Where texting works
Texting works with US phone numbers. Outside the US, use the app Planned or Telegram Planned.
